At Hitma Bewust, we are actively committed to a more sustainable life science sector. Within our circularity program, we give unused single-use components a second life. In doing so, we reduce waste, conserve valuable raw materials, and make high-quality materials available to companies that can make good use of them.

How does the circularity program work?

Our circularity program consists of three simple steps.

1. Collection: Hitma collects surplus, unused single-use components from producers and pharmaceutical companies via sustainable transport.
2. Sorting and verification: The components are carefully inspected, registered, and sorted by product type and material type. This ensures that the products are clearly available for reuse.
3. Availability: Startups and scale-ups within the biopharmaceutical and biotech sector can subsequently request these high-quality materials for use in processes with less strict regulations.

Which products can be picked up and subsequently used?

The range of products we can make available changes constantly, depending on which products are returned. The products we can collect and subsequently make available are:

Tubing: silicone and thermoplastic (TPE) tubing
Connectors: (sterile) connectors in various designs
Bags and bottles: various sizes for the storage and processing of liquids and (cell) suspensions
Filters: capsule filters and disc filters for various filtration processes
